The standard insurance amount currently is $250,000 per depositor. The $250,000 limit is permanent for certain retirement accounts (includes IRAs) and is temporary for all other deposit accounts through December 31, 2013. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor for all deposit accounts except certain retirement accounts, which will remain at $250,000 per depositor.
We know that confidence in your bank is very important. That’s why BankDirect
wants to ensure you that your accounts with BankDirect, a division of Texas
Capital Bank, N.A., are FDIC insured for up to an aggregate of $100,000.00 and
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA’S) are insured separately for up to an
aggregate of $250,000.00.
Since BankDirect is a division of Texas Capital Bank, N.A., any funds on deposit with BankDirect are aggregated towards the $100,000.00 FDIC insurance at Texas Capital Bank, N.A.
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA’s) with BankDirect are aggregated towards the $250,000.00 FDIC insurance at Texas Capital Bank, N.A.
It is our responsibility to inform you of this limit if you happen to hold accounts at both institutions.
